Cook Real Good: Citrus Cilantro Margs

Orange and Cilantro Simple Syrup:
½ cup water
1 cup sugar
2 naval oranges, juiced
10 sprigs of cilantro

In a small saucepan over medium high heat, combine water, sugar, and orange juice.  Once mixture has started to boil and the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat, add the 10 sprigs of cilantro and let steep for 20 minutes.  Strain mixture and store in airtight container in the fridge up to 1 week.

Good Ol' Rim Job:
½ cup sugar
Zest of 1 lime

Into a bowl, add the sugar and zest of one lime.  Grab a cocktail glass, run a slice of lime around the rim and dip in to mixture to coat.

Citrus + Cilantro Margarita:
1 ounce orange and cilantro simple syrup
½ ounce Grand Marnier
1½ ounces lime juice
2 ounces tequila, I prefer Espolon

Grab a glass rimmed with the sugar and lime, if you are in to that sort of thing.  Fill with ice, add the simple syrup, Grand Marnier, lime juice, and tequila.  Stir well.  Enjoy!
